Mini-pupillages last for either one or two days. They are not assessed. A mini-pupillage is not a pre-requisite for pupillage although it is encouraged as it can provide a good opportunity both to see how Chambers works and to meet members of Chambers. Chambers considers that mini-pupils will find their time at One Essex Court most useful if they come after their second year (for undergraduate law students) or after the first term of the GDL.
Mini-pupils sit with members of Chambers and have the opportunity to get a view of life in Chambers and the work done by its members, to speak to current pupils, pupil supervisors and the Senior Clerk.
For those wishing to come on a mini-pupillage between October and Christmas 2013, applications should be made between 1st April 2013 and 30th June 2013.
For those wishing to come on a mini-pupillage between January and Easter 2014, applications should be made between 1st September 2013 and 30th November 2013.
For those wishing to come on a mini-pupillage between Easter and the end of June 2014, applications should be made between 1st January 2014 and 28th February 2014.
Mini-pupillages are not offered during High Court vacations.
Applications should be made in writing, or by e-mail (email@example.com), to the Secretary to the Pupillage Committee, enclosing a covering letter and CV, which should include university examination results to date.
