Katherine Boucher

Katherine specialises in commercial litigation and international arbitration, with a particular interest in civil fraud, banking and finance and complex contractual disputes. • The Pan-NOx Group Litigation: Various Claimants v Mercedes Benz Group and others [2026] EWHC 1753 (KB). Katherine acted for Nissan, successfully defending allegations brought by c.100,000 claimants that Nissan vehicles contained prohibited defeat devices relating to emissions control technologies. Led by Stephen Auld KC, Anneli Howard KC and Michael Ryan KC.
  
• Credit Suisse Virtuoso SICAV-SIF v Softbank [2025] EWHC 2631 (Ch). Katherine appeared for Credit Suisse (instructed by Freshfields LLP) in its claim against SoftBank under s.423 of the Insolvency Act 1986 in respect of transactions entered into by Greensill in relation to the Fairymead Note Programme. One of The Lawyer's Top 20 cases of 2025. Led by Sonia Tolaney KC and Nehali Shah KC.
• J&J Snack Foods Corp v Ralph Peters & Sons Ltd [2025] EWHC 436 (Ch). Katherine acted for the successful Defendants in discharging a £20m freezing order and related imaging order obtained on an ex parte basis in respect of a claim for alleged trade mark infringement, passing off and unjust enrichment in respect of use of the Slush Puppie trade marks and signs. Led by David Cavender KC.
• Various Claimants v Serco Group Plc[2023] EWHC 119 (Ch). Katherine acted for investors (instructed by Morgan Lewis Bockius LLP) bringing claims under s.90A of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 for the publication of misleading information. One of The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2024. Led by Andrew Onslow KC.
• BNP Paribas Trust Corporation v Uro Property HoldingsKatherine acted for the Defendant to claims over £250 million allegedly due under a suite of financing documents. Led by Kenneth MacLean KC and James MacDonald KC.
• Pearson & Ors v Harpin[2023] EWHC 3274 (KB) Katherine appeared as sole counsel through to defend claims for a worldwide freezing order and declaratory relief.
• NMC Healthcare v Dubai Islamic Bank [2023] ADGMCFI 0017 and ADGMCFI 0020. Katherine acting for Dubai Islamic Bank in a $400m Islamic financing dispute in the Abu Dhabi Global Markets Court arising from the NMC Healthcare fraud. Led by Ewan McQuater KC and David Quest KC

Katherine holds a first class degree from Jesus College, Cambridge and received a number of academic scholarships and awards for academic performance. After leaving Cambridge, Katherine converted to law at City, University of London, where she was invited back as a Visiting Lecturer to teach public law and received top scholarships from Gray’s Inn.
