Practice Summary

Marcos Dracos undertakes a broad range of commercial work, with experience in commercial dispute resolution in England and Cyprus. He is a fully qualified lawyer with rights of audience in both jurisdictions, advising on all aspects of English and Cypriot commercial law.

He has been involved in a wide range of complex commercial disputes in both the High Court and the Court of Appeal in England, as well as appearing before the Supreme Court and the District Courts in Cyprus in a wide range of commercial disputes, including civil fraud claims and ancillary applications for freezing and disclosure orders.

Marcos has acquired particular experience in civil fraud and CIS related litigation and has been involved in high profile cases such as the VTB Capital plc v. Nutritek International Corp litigation and the dispute between Mr. Victor Pinchuk and Mr. Igor Kolomoisky and Mr. Gennady Bogolyubov.

Marcos also has acted as counsel in ad hoc, ICC, UNCITRAL and LCIA international commercial arbitrations. He also sits as an arbitrator.

He has a PhD from the University of Cambridge where he also taught contract law. Presently he is a visiting lecturer at the law department of the University of Cyprus, lecturing on Cypriot Civil Procedure, Evidence, and Tort law.
