Ben Strong has wide experience of domestic and international disputes. Recommended by both Chambers UK and the Legal 500 and listed by Legal Week as a "Star at the Bar", Ben combines strong technical ability with a keen awareness of the commercial context in which legal issues arise. He is an outstanding advocate at first instance and appellate level. Before coming to the Bar, Ben was a solicitor at Slaughter and May for seven years.
Recent work includes the matter of Stichting Vestia Groep v. Deutsche Bank AG, instructed (with Rhodri Davies QC and Tamara Kagan) on behalf of the Claimant Dutch housing association in a claim for over €800 million in relation to complex derivative products sold under an ISDA Master Agreement on the basis of allegations of bribery and capacity. The case settled midway through the 35 day trial which took place across June/July 2019.
