Practice Summary

Charles is a hugely experienced advocate and adviser in litigation and arbitration, with particular expertise in handling large-scale international arbitration concerning issues of contractual interpretation, energy disputes, construction projects, sale of goods, share purchase agreements, and breach of warranty claims. He has a wide experience of accounting issues, civil fraud and banking claims and many other aspects of commercial law. Charles is recommended in Chambers UK for his experience in Commercial Litigation and Professional Negligence and recommended in The Legal 500 as a legal expert in Energy related matters and International Arbitration.  Recent work has included for a major group of Korean construction contractors in a substantial LCIA arbitration dispute; for a major Russian engineering company in an ICC arbitration in relation to a gas pipeline from Russia into Europe; and advising on contractual construction in respect of substantial costs associated with the repair of an oil drilling rig.
