Practice Summary

Owain has substantial experience in commercial litigation and in competition law investigations and proceedings. His broad commercial law experience encompasses injunctive relief, civil fraud, company law, judicial review and confidentiality.

Recent cases have included Tatneft v Bogolyubov & Ors [2016] EWHC 2816 (freezing injunction; Russian law; strike out); R (RWE Generation UK Plc) v Gas and Electricity Markets Authority [2015] EWHC 2164 (EU law challenge to electricity transmission charging);  Dany Lions v Bristol Cars [2014] All ER (Comm) 403 (enforcement of best endeavours obligations and “agreements to agree”);  Re Beppler & Jacobson [2014] EWCA Civ 935 (unfair prejudice petition); and Sir Martin Broughton v Hicks [2012] EWCA Civ 1743 (conspiracy; breach of director’s duties; expedition and security for costs).  Presently, Owain is instructed by Post Office Ltd in defence of group litigation and in two Court of Appeal cases.
