Ruihan has a broad practice across Chambers’ profile, including commercial litigation, banking and finance and, energy and arbitration. Before transferring to the Bar, she practised as a solicitor at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP in London, where she worked on business and human rights-related group actions in the English Court, and LCIA and ICC arbitrations. Ruihan has appeared as sole counsel in the High Court and County Court.
Ruihan's current and recent instructions include:
- Acting in an LCIA arbitration for the defendant, led by James Macdonald KC and Matthew Barry. The dispute concerns a USD 100 million contractual claim arising out of the LNG supply chain of a South Asian country.
- Acting in a Commercial Court claim for the defendant, led by Simon Rainey KC and David Caplan. The matter involves a USD 136 million claim for breach of warranty and fraudulent misrepresentation following an M&A transaction.
- Acting in a Commercial Court claim for the defendant, led by Sandy Phipps. The dispute arises from the close-out of equity derivatives in the context of Russia-related sanctions.
- Acted with David Caplan for the alleged contemnors on an application to strike out a contempt application in the BVI arising out of the business rescue proceedings of a distressed company in South Africa.
- Advised with Camilla Bingham KC on a fair value appraisal in the BVI following the exercise of dissent rights by minority shareholders.
