Veena is recommended as a Leading Junior in commercial litigation, commercial dispute resolution, banking and finance and group litigation. In previous editions, she was praised for her ability to “turn her hand to anything” and for her legal knowledge: “If you need to know an answer to a particularly tricky legal point Veena will deliver it.”
Veena is regularly instructed in complex and high-value commercial disputes. Veena’s recent instructions include acting for BHP in Municipio de Mariana v BHP Group (UK) Ltd (one of The Lawyer’s top cases for 2020, 2022 and 2024), for Dyson in claims arising from its supply chain, for INEOS in breach of warranty claims and for Mastercard in interchange fee litigation. Alongside cases where she acts as part of a counsel team, Veena regularly acts as sole counsel especially for financial institutions.
Before coming to the Bar, Veena taught Administrative Law at Cambridge University and has a particular interest in cases raising public law issues. Veena maintains an active interest in academic law and her work has been published in leading journals including the Law Quarterly Review, the Journal of Private International Law and Civil Justice Quarterly.

Other Experience
Veena regularly volunteers on the CLIPS Rota providing pro bono assistance for litigants-in-person.
Veena is actively involved in initiatives within Chambers to promote diversity in recruitment to the Bar. She has mentored a number of students through the Women at the Commercial Bar Mentoring Scheme and the COMBAR Mentoring Scheme for Under-represented Groups.
Before coming to the Bar, Veena taught Administrative Law at Cambridge University (Downing College). She was also a stagiaire to Judge Vajda at the Court of Justice of the European Union in 2018, and worked at the Law Commission between 2015 and 2016.
