Sonia Tolaney QC has been named The Lawyer’s Barrister of the Week, in recognition of two positive judgments for her client, Deutsche Bank, in the past two weeks: succeeding for Deutsche Bank against Busto di Arsizio ([2021] EWHC 2706 (Comm)) earlier this month, and this week receiving judgment in a landmark appeal where Deutsche Bank succeeded on the interpretation of competing subordinated debts in the Lehman Group and the effect of guarantee payments in an insolvency ([2021] EWCA Civ 1523).
