Mini-pupillage

Due to the current pandemic, only remote (virtual) mini-pupillages are being offered. These last half a day, and are not formally assessed. We apply similar requirements for selection for mini-pupillage as we do for interviews for pupillage. A mini-pupillage is not a pre-requisite for pupillage although it is encouraged as it can provide a good opportunity to see how Chambers works, to ask questions, and to speak to a member of the clerking team.  Please note, however, that we will not consider applications for mini-pupillage to take place before applicants have commenced either the second term of the second year of an undergraduate law degree or the Graduate Diploma in Law. This is to ensure that mini-pupillages are as beneficial as possible.

For those wishing to come on a mini-pupillage between Easter and the end of June 2021, applications should be made between 1st January 2021 and 28th February 2021.

For those wishing to come on a mini-pupillage between October and Christmas 2021, applications should be made between 1st April 2021 and 30th June 2021.

For those wishing to come on a mini-pupillage between January and Easter 2022, applications should be made between 1st September 2021 and 30th November 2021.

Applications should be made in writing, or by e-mail (teamd@oeclaw.co.uk), to the Secretary to the Pupillage Committee, enclosing an anonymised covering letter and anonymised CV, which should include university examination results to date (broken down by year and module). Please ensure that all enclosures are anonymised – for example, redacting your name from any email address on your CV, from any publications listed, or from your certificate of exam results.
